ABBA You Can Dance #UbiABBA #spon

So you think you can disco dance?  I thought I knew a good move or two (from watching John Travolta back in the day!) but I can say I’ve learned a few new tricks after having played the Wii game ABBA You Can Dance.

I had so much fun hosting a 70s/Disco party  where we all took a chance to show off our skills.  We had good party appetizers and a great little disco ball to set the mood.  It was A LOT of fun, and laughter also ensued.    I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to play along with the choreography and not trip over my own feet.  We have surround sound connected to our Wii (which I totally recommend) and that really enhanced the "get in the groove"  dancing plus the clarity of the songs is great!

Before the game, I was already familiar with a few of ABBA’s songs like “Dancing Queen” and “Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie!”  I have since learned quite a few more!  I was also excited that it had a karaoke mode where you can sing along with the lyrics.  So I guess you can figure that a microphone may be a future purchase for us.  This game is compatible up to 4 players so your whole house could almost get in on the action all at once. 

One section my little one really liked was the mini-musical.  From there you play a character role in an ABBA musical.  This was the only area that took some getting used to since you have the Wii remote in one hand while being fairly close to your partner projecting the hand swaying moves and at times touching hands.

If you like to dance, are an ABBA fan, or simply like to “par-tae” then this may be just want you want on your holiday list.  This game retails for about $39.99 and can be found at many retailers Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Target and even Amazon!
