Should you, could you handle Black Friday? Could you, should you tackle Cyber Monday? You’re probably better suited for one or the other, but which one? Here’s a handy guide to help you figure out which shopping holiday is better for you:
1. Black Friday is an institution, an event, a media frenzy, and a very big nationwide bash. If you’re the first to arrive at a party and the last to leave, Black Friday may be for you. It’s really more about celebrating the tradition than it is about the deals, although there are tons of deals to be found. Many people make it a family event and reminisce about Black Fridays of the past over and over again. If this sounds like an ideal family tradition in the making, you’re a Black Friday shopper.
2. If the saying ‘shop ‘til you drop’ is part of your weekly vernacular, you’re a black Friday shopper. This particular shopping day is very physical; you’re getting up early, probably having slept very little, if at all. You’re braving long lines and crowds of people and hustling from one deal to another. It’s physically demanding and mentally challenging. Sound fun to you? You’re a Black Friday shopper.
3. If games and glues and puzzles are more your cup of tea, you’re probably a Cyber Monday shopper. Cyber Monday requires patience and planning and uncovering deals before everyone else. It takes time to organize what you want to buy, find out where the best deals are and then you need speed to click and place your order. If crowds and lack of sleep are not your game, Cyber Monday is your day.
4. If you’re an online junkie and subscribe to store newsletters and emails, Cyber Monday may be your day. If you’re always checking your email, Facebook and Twitter accounts looking for the latest updates, you’re a Cyber Monday candidate, for sure. Cyber Monday offers deals that can be had with just one or two clicks from your phone or laptop. It’s easy, no fuss and no crowds.
Whether you’re a Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopper, you’re going to find great deals out there on either day. With a little planning, self-evaluation, a real budget and detailed list, you’re bound to have a great holiday.
