Don't let Halloween safety go to the dogs

When people think about Halloween safety, a lot of times they just think about only accepting candy from people you know and making sure not to let your kids out of your sight when they're trick or treating. Now that is really good advice, but there are other things around Halloween time that you should be conscious of when it comes to safety. That includes costumes.

I was online looking for some flame retardant costumes to put on my dogs for Halloween when I came across this information about a deal for some wireless internet access that I liked the sound of so I think that I'm going to switch over my internet service to it.

I ended up finding some perfect costumes to my dogs that are perfect when you have Halloween dog safety in mind. I like to dress them up for the occasion and let trick or treaters see through the windows, but I'll keep a baby gate up so that they're separated from the trick or treaters in case some kids are afraid of dogs.

As halloween approaches my family is feverishly making and purchasing costumes, finding the candy baskets, and finishing carving the jack o lanterns. The children have been going wild the past fews days asking me when we are going to start going out to collect candy. My usual response is "once the sun goes down I will take you trick or treating." However every year they somehow convince me to take them the second I get home.

We do the normal loop of the neighborhood, talking to old neighbors who we have lost contact with and of course collecting the most candy as possible. Year after year the amount of candy my two kids get is astounding, no matter if they are Sponge Bob Square Pants or a Vampire they come home with loads of candy. After tricking and treating at all the house I take my boys to the next neighborhood over where they hand out king size candy bars. Nothing beats a king size snickers bar on a cold fall night.

As the night comes to an end, the cowboy and Batman take off their costumes and rummage through their candy classifying them as okay, good, and great. While I sit watching satellite television from expertsatellite. com the "okay" group is passed along as a thank you for roaming the neighborhood in search of the best house.

Goodwill Too is an online Goodwill store with a difference. Where the traditional Goodwill store offers mostly donated goods, Goodwill Too offers its customers mostly brand new merchandise (often closeouts and other similar purchases, keeping costs down), with a scattering of gently used merchandise. Their merchandise is categorized and they have a category called "Gently Used Merchandise" where the majority of donated items are kept. They also mark our donated items "-Donated-" so customers can distinguish these items from the brand new merchandise.

What drives you to move

Where would you move to if you could move anywhere in the US? I often wonder what drive's people's choices to move whether it be work, family or other. I know a lot of people simply stay grounded where they grew up and venture a short distance from there.

I have a friend who moved and looked into phoenix az real estate. While I love the homes, I just can't get over the heat there. She ended up meeting a very nice guy and is starting a new life there. But it still leaves me wondering about what drives people to new locations and what they look for.

The other day I opened Internet Explorer and there was a MSN article about the most dangerous cities in the world. Would you believe that America had two cities on there? One of them was Detroit. Another article was about the worst economically drowning cities and one in particular was Cleveland OH. I see some truth to that but does it alter my decision to live near there? I don't know. What about you, what are your thoughts?

With today´s hectic schedules, leisurely breakfasts can be difficult to come by. So why not take Sunday mornings to unwind from the busy week and spend quality time with your family?

Mom's Time Out Wk 3

As most of you know already I'm apart of the Mom's Time Out event which I posted about HERE. I am having a great time test driving the Chevy Traverse!

As part of the program we (the selected bloggers) will be blogging and vlogging about our experiences.

Here is an up close photo of the shiny red Traverse that I'm driving for sadly just one more week. A few things that I hadn't taken into consideration until my uncle dropped by for a visit was how big the tires are. I personally like big tires on an SUV and nice rims to boot.
One thing that makes my life easier with the Traverse is the side step. I stand at about 5'3 so using this to get into the vehicle is major thumbs up! I can't stand crawling, jumping, and maneuvering myself into a vehicle. It's nice to be able to just get in.
Tonight I asked my daughter what her favorite thing about the Traverse was. She said that she liked that a kid could just sleep in it with all the room in the back. I guess that's why when we go for rides in it she wants to sit all the way in the back. I'm glad I asked her because I was beginning to think she thought her parents had "coodies" or something.
The Traverse is extremely roomy and comfortable that camping would be awesome with the Traverse. I few years ago I went camping and was so scared because I heard bears and other animals that I actually left the tent and slept in my vehicle. I wish I had the Traverse back then!
The Traverse has so many features that makes my life easier. I absolutely love driving it and will be a little lost without it when it has to go back next week. We've even had the neighbor's asking us if we've gotten a new car! LOL...I wish!

Finding Nemo

The first Pixar movie I ever saw was Finding Nemo and I've been hooked on their films ever since. The only thing is that none of their films are as good as it. It's probably the greatest movie of all time. Involving a disabled fish named Nemo (one of his fins is small and weak) and his overprotective father, Marlin. Nemo's school of fish are basically attacked and he gets captured by humans and ends up in an aquarium. Marlin traverses the ocean to find Nemo, making a female friend in the absent minded fish Dory. The pair travel down to Sydney, Australia in search of Nemo and through their travels, become dear friends. The couple encounter all sorts of underwater things such as pirate ships, submarines, reefs and the inhabitants of the sea. Following turtles, avoiding sharks and making friends with seagulls, Marlin and Dory finally reach Sydney. During this time Nemo and his aquarium pals attempt to help Nemo escape the aquarium (which is located in a Dentist office), to hilarious results. It's one of the most touching coming of age films of our generation. I saw it this past weekend on satellite TV from tvbydirect.com and even though it's like probably the 5th or 6th time I have seen it, I'm still moved to tears every single time the father and son are reunited.

Late Night Freebie Friday

Whew..what a day! First off...I decided to change my template a bit....little did I know that I would spend the rest of the day trying to figure out where my Google Followers went!! After a long day of aggravation, I found a great tutorial online and it fixed it up in a snap. Then..... Once again had to go back and number my comments and all the other little goodies that seem to quirk up when you change your template.

Also amongst all of this we have introduced a laptop into our home (a birthday gift ;0 for moa). It seems though that our router is out of date or there is a quirk in the system because everytime it goes online it kicks the desktop's connection off at the same time! So....hubby is looking into it. The "techy" side of things such as that is his avenue. But, I'm glad I can at least get on here and get this posted. Because who knows...I could get another "Lost Connection ... Page Won't Load"...LOL.

Discovered a New Traverse Feature

As most of you know already I'm apart of the Mom's Time Out event which I posted about HERE. I am having a great time test driving the Chevy Traverse!

As part of the program we (the selected bloggers) will be blogging and vlogging about our experiences.

Yesterday was my birthday and hubs took us out to eat at Steak on a Stone in Copley. It's a really neat steak place. They serve steak on about a 750 degree volcanic stone! One of the appetizers we ordered called Saganaki which is Kasseri cheese that comes out and they set it on fire for split second and it's so good!

We had a wonderful evening. From the parking lot (on a hill) you can look below and see the city lights at night.

One amazing feature we discovered accidentally on our way home from the restaurant was a light on the dash telling us that one of the passenger doors wasn't closed all the way. I was really impressed by this and had no clue that this was even a feature of the Traverse. It ended up being hub's door so we pulled over and fixed that.

It seems I'm learning something new about the Traverse each time I hop into it. It was really nice to have a hot red Traverse to take out on my birthday! It's also amazing that almost three weeks have gone by already since I first got the Traverse.
