I Was Born In A Small Town

Have you ever heard that song "Small Town" by John Mellecamp? I love this song for so many reasons. One reason I love this song is because I was not only born in a small town but raised in one and still live in one today. You can find just enough of what you need in a small town without all the flash and speed of a city, including prices.

I know by just looking at my town as well as driving through others that the wrath of the economy and urban sprawl has wounded the local owned businesses on Main Street. It's sad to see such a vibrant, beautiful place turn an eyesore with closed buildings, unkempt vacant businesses due to the takeover of strip malls etc. I think the hardest hit is the wonderful Mom and Pops stores. Growing up there was a Mom and Pops store called just that, Mom and Pops. All the high school kids would grab some delicious affordable grub there before heading to the beach. This local hot spot was a diamond in the rough and a great asset to our community.

Now companies that move in to small towns are outsourcing for cheaper labor leaving once robust factories and charming businesses to close down. I know of many of these scenarios and I'm sure you do to. I am ecstatic to have found out about Rambler's Way farm and how they are beginning to change America. The company sources, grows, and produces fine woolen apparel using 100% domestic resources. This company has brought ever so needed manufacturing facilities into distressed small towns and is helping to revitalize the communities.

Target Trip - Free Chef Boyardee

I stepped out and ran to target yesterday and boy do I wish my printer hadn't jammed up my coupons because I would of certainly bought more stuff! The Chef Boyardee was FREE - priced at .99 and used a Target coupon for $1.00 off of Chef Boyardee. Some stores I hear have it for .80 cents but mine was not.

My drink of choice, Mt Dew was priced at $3.33 and used a Target coupon for $1.00 off each 12 pack making them $2.33 each!!

The Bic pencils were priced at $1.39 and I used another $1.00 off coupon from the stationary section of the Target coupons making them a low .39 cents!!

My Shutterfly Experience + Deal for NEW Members
