One Of The Best Thrift Stores In OHIO

Have you ever heard of "Village Discount Outlet"? I just call it the Village, but it is by far one of the best thrift stores I've ever been to as far as prices and selection go. The prices at this store are excellent! They are always running super sales which are so popular that people even line up outside before it even opens (9AM) so they can snatch all the good stuff first!

Not only that, they run specials all week long. The hottest special is on Mondays which is .50 cent tag days!!! On Monday they have a special colored tag and everything with that color is only .50 cents!! What's even better is that they have a ton of name brand clothing in great condition. You do have to search and "inspect" your clothing as you would at any thrift shop, but you can come out of there literally sporting a whole new wardrobe for cheap! The Village sells brands like Eddie Bauer, Gucci, Coach, Tommy, Ralph Lauren, and on and on.

I used to go to thrift stores quite often but noticed like any thing else the prices went up. I found that it wasn't even worth going to them hardly. That was until I moved to Ohio and came across the Village. I think one of the keys to a successful shop at a thrift store is to know brands and prices. For instance, if you know that Pier One probably sells dishes for X, then you know how much you WON'T pay for Pier One's dishes at a thrift shop. I even take into consideration that things are so often purchased on sale/clearance. I think about what would have been the lowest retail price of that item. Therefore I expect to pay lower than that at a thrift/consignment shop. Do you guys go to thrift stores? If so, do you have a favorite?

Saving Money With Samples

Do you get a flood of free samples to your mailbox every week? I do! And I'll tell you one huge reason why - money saving coupons!!! That's right not only do companies send you a free product to try hoping you'll become brand loyal but you also get coupons. A lot of these coupons are "HIGH" value coupons. For instance, this week I received all this for free in my mailbox:

Not only is their product value in the items I received but here is a run down of coupons that tagged along with these items ---
2 Free VS Pink Panty coupons = $15.00 (these run about $7.50 a pair)
Kashi Cereal Coupons = 1 Free Box coupon + 3 $1.50 off coupons = totalling $ 7.50
Kotex Coupons = 2 /$1.00 off ANY Kotex = 2 free boxes of panty liners (these run about $1 a piece)
Pampers Trainers = $4.00 in coupon savings

So, not including the samples, I received about $28.50 in AWESOME product coupons + all the items you see above for FREE!!!! I also should add that I didn't even include magazine coupons! That's right, there are plenty of free magazine subscriptions that become available that you can snag if for nothing else for the coupons!!!

This is just one week of savings! Imagine what you can snag in a months time. It's really incredible when you sit down and think about it. When you have other avenues to gather your coupons from ex. newspaper, online, etc. this ends up being yet another avenue for you to save money! Only difference is you are not purchasing anything! With a newspaper you buy, and online coupons you need ink and printer paper which cost money. So, keep more money in your pocket and keep your mailbox full!

Many samples go quickly especially high value ones. I try to post them as fast as I see them. Do you have an overly cluttered medicine cabinet like I do? I literally have no idea how I get anything in or out of there! I have tried and tried to clean it out and get it orderly but I swear to you that sometimes stuff even falls out of it. Not only that, I even have stuff on TOP of my medicine cabinet. MagnaPods are made of high quality plastic with a magnet that can adhere to your medicine cabinet allowing you much needed extra storage compartments. You preferably need a steel backed door on your cabinet. Or other neat uses for MagnaPods are for your fridge, tool box, locker, and any other place where you need organization and have a magnetic area!

The great part is that you can put all those annoying little items that just don't have a place or fit well with anything, in your MagnaPod. For instance: lipsticks, make up brushes, extra toothbrushes, q-tips, tweezers, nail files and on and on. There are other ways to utilize the MagnaPods even if it's not for make up. I used mine for little medicine samples, thermometer, Neosporin along with other odds and ends that kept falling out of my medicine cabinet! By doing this I was able to get the items that were floating atop my medicine cabinet put back in it where they belong!
