SodaStream Fountain Jet Review/Giveaway!!

I recently received a really neat little soda maker from SodaStream for review.  It's called a Fountain Jet Soda Starter Kit.   It allows you freshness and convenience all in one.  At first I was a bit intimidated, but after reading the instructions I quickly got it figured out.  First of all it doesn't have any chords or batteries which is nice.  It has a slim structure to easily fit on your counter without taking up much space.

The Fountain Jet Starter Kit comes with two flavors to get you started and they sent me a lot more for tasting.  Also, it comes with your CO2 container and 2 carbonating plastic bottles.   The carbonating bottles do come with an expiration date.  Basically, it's able to stand up to the carbon pressure up to the expiration date.  Once it expires you can recycle your bottle.  For example the bottles I received have the expiration date of 2012, that's 2 full years of making soda and helping the environment.  To see if this is a good choice for you if you already live green or plan on living greener check out their facts and questions page here.

I had my whole family assist in trying out the machine and sodas.  My only suggestion is to pump more carbonation into the bottle than suggested to get that fizz going.  Other than that the most popular of flavors at my home was:  Orange - taste like Fanta, Diet Lemon Lime - taste like Sprite, and Cranberry Raspberry. 

The Fountain Jet also appears to be a nifty idea for those who regularly host parties.  You can generate your own soda for Root Beer floats and possibly even mixed drinks.  This is especially easy for "tween" age kids to use.  The bottle mixes actually make quite a bit of soda being that your only adding a small amount of mix to water.  In fact each bottle mix makes about 12 Liters of soda!  I think in the long run this could save any soda drinker money.  Not only that  you can also make seltzer water.
