Flowers Make Me Smile

Boiron Review and Giveaway

I Was Born In A Small Town

Have you ever heard that song "Small Town" by John Mellecamp?  I love this song for so many reasons.  One reason I love this song is because I was not only born in a small town but raised in one and still live in one today.  You can find just enough of what you need in a small town without all the flash and speed of a city, including prices.

I know by just looking at my town as well as driving through others that the wrath of the economy and urban sprawl has wounded the local owned businesses on Main Street.  It's sad to see such a vibrant, beautiful place turn an eyesore with closed buildings, unkempt vacant businesses due to the takeover of strip malls etc.  I think the hardest hit is the wonderful Mom and Pops stores.  Growing up there was a Mom and Pops store called just that, Mom and Pops.  All the high school kids would grab some delicious affordable grub there before heading to the beach.  This local hot spot was a diamond in the rough and a great asset to our community. 

Now companies that move in to small towns are outsourcing for cheaper labor leaving once robust factories and charming businesses to close down. I know of many of these scenarios and I'm sure you do to.  I am ecstatic to have found out about Rambler's Way farm and how they are beginning to change America. The company sources, grows, and produces fine woolen apparel using 100% domestic resources. This company has brought ever so needed manufacturing facilities into distressed small towns and is helping to revitalize the communities.

The Ramblers Way Corporate Office was built in 1972 and has been completely refurbished into its original condition while modernized for today's environmental needs.  It's located downtown Kennebunk, Maine and has already achieved the coveted Gold Lead Certification level!  I am really happy to see organizations doing what they can to hold together the heart of America.  I have a huge interest in preserving history.  I find it absolutely fascinating how people lived before our time and the quality of products produced.  I believe it gives that old saying " Made in America " its true essence.
